What to Expect

  • The visit begins by creating a calm and comforting environment. We offer your pet delicious treats—usually fried chicken or another favorite—before and during the administration of a gentle sedative. This helps ensure the experience starts with warmth and love, and is as stress-free as possible.

  • The sedative helps your pet feel calm, comfortable, and pain-free. It typically takes 10–15 minutes to take full effect. Once your pet is relaxed, we place an intravenous catheter and administer two medications:

    • The first induces deep anesthesia and complete unconsciousness

    • The second allows for a peaceful and painless passing

  • We remain by your side throughout the entire visit, gently explaining each step so you feel informed and supported. We also bring beautiful roses to help create a dignified and heartfelt goodbye.

If you’d like, we can collect fur clippings or a clay paw print as a keepsake.

After the visit, we’ll transport your pet’s remains and plant a tree in their honor in a protected California forest. A certificate will be sent to you with your pet’s name and the name of the forest where the tree was planted.

  • We typically need a few days' notice, though same- or next-day visits may be possible depending on availability. If you have a date or time in mind, we’ll do our best to accommodate.

If you’d like to talk through the process, we can schedule a call to answer any questions and explain the process in depth. If you have medical records, please email them to drgaby@beyondvet.care
